FIRE & RESCUE
Proudly serving our community through the joint effort of
volunteer and career personnel.
The purpose of North Warren Volunteer Fire & Rescue of Warren County Virginia is to provide emergency and public services to any resident within Warren County, visitor to our county, or any mutual jurisdiction requesting assistance. These services may include but are not limited to fire prevention, suppression activities, emergency medical service, rescue, or education and public services.
2019 AT A GLANCE
This past year required many hours by the President and Treasurer to get our finances
back in order. At the end of the first quarter we were able to get all past due accounts
payable up to date. We reviewed all accounts and eliminated some to prevent
unnecessary spending. A major focus was to pay down a loan with First Bank. It had
both titles to our emergency vehicles tied up as collateral. On January 1, 2019 we still
owed $86,880. After much work by our administrators, we only owed $19,222 on
December 31, 2019. During the past two years we've discussed the need to replace
our Rescue/Engine which can't be done until the loan is paid off. We unfortunately
had to make some tough decisions but in a business sense it was very necessary.
Like other volunteer stations in the area it takes manpower to accomplish our goals.
Such would be the case for "Operation Santa". It takes VOLUNTEERS, so to guarantee
Santa hits the streets next year we invite you to fill out an application so we can make that happen.
Another goal we had for 2019 was to get more trained volunteers. This past year we
had two members obtained their National Registry Emergency Medical Technician certification.
Also in 2019 and soon to graduate, we have four members attending the fire academy.
A LOOK INTO 2020
A very big undertaking in 2020 is to replace our aging Rescue/Engine. Our 2005 we presently have has
seen it's better days. In the past few years it has endured several repairs costing thousands of dollars.
The designation of "Rescue/Engine" means this vehicle has two purposes, fire fighting and
rescuing persons trapped in vehicle or industrial accidents. Unfortunately this vehicle is estimated to
cost us $500,000. We presently have $25,000 in our truck fund. It is estimated we will need $100,000
as a down payment so we can then manage a 15 year loan. (very few departments can pay cash for
a new vehicle). Soon we will be announcing a capital fund drive to raise these funds. Besides our regular
fund raisers we will be visiting approximately 50 of the National and International businesses and
Industry in our first due area to solicit their help. Our rental hall has been doing well for us and our
residential fund drive letter will go out in July. We will also be in the streets with our boot drives.
AS ALWAYS WE ARE HAPPY TO HELP PROTECT AND SERVE OUR COMMUNITIES AND

To all our friends and supporters of North Warren Fire and Rescue,
the board of directors has decided not to hold our July and August pancake breakfasts.
This decision was made after evaluating related income versus expenses which revealed
very little profit the first half of this year. We will be discussing the status of this and
other fundraising efforts at our next membership meeting. As always, we greatly appreciate
the community's continued support of our organization as we move forward.

BOD: Reggie Fritts,
If you have used our celebration/meeting hall we would welcome any feedback you may have. In 2019 we are making changes so the hall has multifunctional use. This includes weddings and receptions, dances, business meetings, training classes, banquets, dinners, and more. This year there are plans to upgrade the bathrooms, curtains, new paint and maximize use of the commercial kitchen. The rental hall is a major fund raiser for NWVFR as we prepare to replace the Rescue/Engine next year at a cost of over $500,000. Please email firstname.lastname@example.org with any feedback that will allow us to serve you better.
